Program Manager for HYDRA Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Trunking Radio program. Lead designer for LMR trunking systems for use at shore stations and aboard U.S. Navy ships for police, fire, command and control, and other functions. These systems utilize the same technology in use by local city police and fire departments, and provides not only local wireless communications, but WAN links. |
Designed wireless coverage system for the U.S.S. Eisenhower and U.S.S. Ponce. Assisted in setting up call groups for these designs. Performed testing and troubleshooting of existing wireless system on the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt and U.S.S. George Washington. Designed a new prototype wireless system for the SSN 688 class submarine. |
Developed innovative circuits to provide several new capabilities for existing wireless systems. One of these allowed for non-powered operations to cover situations where system amplifiers and headend equipment are damaged. Another provided additional security above that provided by call groups, for isolated communications in sensitive areas. |
Developed an engineering design program to allow alternative wireless network designs to be compared and easily modified. The program was developed to store component parameters and network designs, and provided graphing capability. |
